    PLEASE READ! Important Swim/Dive Info for this week!

    Hello Team! Please read to the end for important information for this week!

    Pictures: Team Pictures are this Thursday, 10/26 Athletes will meet at the front of the school at 2:15pm. All athletes need to wear their 2023-24 team shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers for the team picture. We will take a team picture, a senior picture, and individual pictures for those that wish to purchase. The order form is attached here as well as on our website under the Events tab.

    Friday Swim Practice: Practice will be held again this Friday at the YMCA in Lawrenceville from 2:45-4:00. Please note the time change from regular practice. If you still do not have a waiver on file, please see Coach Boykin.

    Meet Info: Our first meet is this Saturday!! If you have not done so already, we highly encourage you to subscribe to our events and meets page on our website. This will ensure you always have the most up-to-date information for all events and meets for our team. This weekend, all of our swimmers will be competing at Mountain Park Aquatic Center on Saturday morning while all of our divers will be competing at Collins Hill on Saturday night.

    Transportation: Divers will provide their own transportation to Collins Hill Aquatic Center on Saturday night. Swimmers must ride the bus to the meet Saturday morning to Mountain Park Aquatic Center. On Saturday, 10/28, swimmers should arrive at Mountain View High School and meet in front of the school at 6:00 AM to board the bus. Do not be late! We will depart for Mountain Park Aquatic Center no later than6:15 AM. Once the meet is over, students must either checkout with the coaches or ride back to the school. No athlete should leave the building prior to the end of the meet. Once the bus is loaded/headed back, the coaches will post a message in the Parent GroupMe with the estimated time to arrive back at Mountain View high school.

    Swim Meet: We will get to Mountain Park Aquatic Center and change into suits for warmups. Our warmups will be from 7:15 - 7:35 am in lanes 1-5. The meet will begin at 8:05am. This is a tri-meet between Mountain View, Grayson, and Peachtree Ridge. I would expect the meet to end around 10:30, but this timing is just an estimate. Later this week, Attached are a list of entries, so that athletes will know what they are entered in. Grayson is the home team this week and will have concessions, which will be cashless. They accept debit/credit card (they have Square) or Cash App.

    Dive Meet: All Divers that are ready to compete are expected to attend this meet. Divers, please don’t forget you must register for this meet on divemeets.com by TODAY, Wednesday, October 25 at 5 PM. No late entries will be accepted. Timeline: 6:30 - Divers allowed into the Collins Hill Aquatic Center 6:45-7:15pm - Girls Warm Ups 7:15-8:15pm - Girls Dive Meet 8:15*-8:45pm - Boys Warm Ups 8:45-9:15pm - Boys Dive Meet * Boys warm up begins at the conclusion of the girls meet and lasts 30 minutes.

    Meet Theme/What to Bring Each week, our captains designate a theme to make the meets more fun, and communicate that through the athlete GroupMe! This week's theme is Black Out! Let's show some spirit! All athletes are expected to wear their team hoodie, team suit, their team cap (if they’re a swimmer) and if they are a diver they should have their team shammy towel. Please note per GHSA rules, swimmers MUST wear their high school team cap & team suit for meets. They are not permitted to wear club or any other logo caps besides their high school cap. No jewelry should be worn while swimming or diving. The following items are good to have in your swim bag for the meet: team suit, goggles, cap, backup goggles, backup cap, dive shammy for divers, towel(s), warm clothes to sit in after a race/on the bus, healthy snacks, and water!!

    Volunteers: The following parents are scheduled to volunteer at this meet: Kris Ann Wright, David Garcia, Jesse Hummel, Maresa Cammarata, Brandon Le, Thai Luong, Juan Restrepo, and Diana Roldan. Please arrive at Mountain Park by 7:15 in order to check and attend any pre-meet training. See Jennifer Berry for your volunteer name tag upon arrival. If something comes up and you are unable to make the meet, please text Jennifer at 770-316-5319. *We will also have MVHS student volunteers. Although the students are great volunteers, they are not always great about RSVP'ing. Depending upon how many students show up, you may be relieved of your position. Parents who are relieved may be asked to help out later in the season if we end up being short handed. Thank you for your cooperation.
